Wedding.

This weekend was my baby brother's wedding to his beautiful bride, Lauren. I cannot imagine him finding anyone more perfect, and I am so, so happy for them. It was a lot of fun, and I always love being with my family from Chicago... Rick and I were so lucky to be a part of their big day. Congratulations, you two!!!

13 weeks.

{keep in mind this photo was taken after a very large anniversary dinner, the bump was smaller this morning}

How far along? 13 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: only 2 pounds!!
Maternity clothes? I have not bought or worn any, but I was given loads of clothes yesterday by my sweet neighbor, Katie. Love her so much...
Stretch marks? No, started the cocoa butter rub down 2 days ago.
Sleep: Sleeping great, thank goodness!
Best moment this week: Found the perfect mirror to turn into a chalkboard to document the baby growth on!
Have you told family and friends: Yes- my entire family was at my brother's wedding this past weekend! It was wonderful seeing everyone!
Miss Anything? Sandwiches. Particularly Eegee's turkey grinder.
Movement: Not yet... Hopefully SOON!
Food cravings: Fruit, corn dogs, and fried bologna sandwiches. Weird.

Happy Anniversary to the most wonderful man. I am especially lucky because he just happens to be mine. It has been two years of adventure, laughter, love, pure craziness, beauty, wonder, joy, and excitement. I love you to the moon and back.... here's to fifty more.

12 weeks.

How far along? 12 Weeks, 2 Days. The baby is the size of a PLUM.
Total weight gain: 1 pound!! Hallelujah!
Maternity clothes? Nopers. I have a lot of flowy tops and sundresses. I can still button my pants, just have to unbutton them when I am sitting for a long period of time.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: In the late afternoon I get pretty tired, but sleep great at night.
Best moment this week: Revealing our pregnancy to the whole world! On my birthday, no less. What a special day.
Have you told family and friends: Yes! His family over Cabo weekend, mine over St. Paddy's Day, a couple friends/our neighbors right after Cabo, close friends after the first sonogram, and everyone yesterday!!
Miss Anything? Nope! I guess drinking WITH everyone, but alcohol does not sound appealing at all. I also love not having hangovers.
Movement: Not yet.
Food cravings: PB & J, Milkshakes, and Mac & Cheese.: which is pretty much all I could keep down in the 1st trimester.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Salads, refrigerator smells, just looking at a toilet, and Rick's cologne if I smell it while brushing my teeth. Barfing in the sink is a new normal.
Have you started to show yet: A little bump- kinda popped out this week.
Gender prediction: Boy.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Weekly Wisdom: Drinking half a cup of coffee with lots of cream in the morning makes everything easier.
Looking forward to: Getting a bigger bump & starting the nursery!

and baby makes 3.

So, the 12 week mark has hit, and I can finally tell the world! Rick and I are expecting a baby in the Fall. October 31st to be exact.
I haven't blogged in a while- not because I haven't been doing fun things or spending time with fun people, but because nothing else seemed worth talking about without talking about this first.
It has all I have been thinking about, dreaming about, hiding, since February 20th when I met Rick at the door after work, holding up our positive test. It has been a roller coaster of excitement, nausea, creative reveals, exhaustion, and pure joy. I can't wait to document every step of the way here so I can relive this magical time over and over again.
I will hopefully be able to retell and relive the moments up until this point, and continue on for the next 7 months. But- one thing is for sure ~ we are FULL of excitement around these parts....
